Photo: MTA celebrates BHM? Go figure!

You know this train’s going express to freedom, equality, and “ain’t I a woman?” township!

The MTA is taking BHM to new heights!

MTAdventure: December 22nd

Yesterday’s MTAdventure from Brooklyn to Inwood: I had on my headphones and tried to give my most menacing NYC look, and yet 3 people asked me questions my journey. One couple poked me and asked: “Where is the nearest Red Lobster”? - “I don’t know. Maybe Times Square?” Another couple were tourists and clearly were not getting this whole “Uptown/Downtown” thing so I had to explain that concept to them and help them get to Rockefeller Center. While riding the A train a dude next to me asked: “Is this the D train?” To which I replied “Do you see that A right there? This is the A train!” Closer to the end of the journey there was a dude who seemed either high as a kite or mentally disturbed (or both!) and he was speaking in gibberish until we got to 191st street. He popped up and said “THIS IS MY STOP!” He exited and the whole train breathed a sigh of relief. Then as the doors were about to close the guy popped back in the train and said “NOPE- WASN’T MY STOP!”

This drawing is so right on! Why don’t people move over when there is clearly more space?

How happy I feel when I walk into the subway on the weekends and the train immediately arrives :)

In 1987 who would of thought that in the future the Canarsie/14 St Line also known as the L line would be the most popular line in the New York City Subway system. Well take a look here this is the R 30 subway set and well its covered in graffiti. I remember friends telling me stories that in that era people were afraid to even go to Bedford Avenue. How time changes, right.

Accordion vs. Clarinet
Yesterday’s MTAdventure: That awkward moment when…one musician comes in from one side of the train car and another comes in from the other side. It’s kind of like a western film- “This town ain’t big enough for the both of us!”. Clarinet dude on the right backed down because dude on the left had an accordion. Accordion dude was killing the game! He played some ill stuff on the accordion including “The Godfather” theme song! I gave him $ and he said I was a sophisticated lady. Then he played “The Godfather” song again just for me! I said “Woo Hoo!” and he started saying “Woo Hoo!”. I told him to go make that paper and he said “Lady, it’s the 1st of the month. I got goals & PERSPIRATIONS”

Although I will never give them my number, here is what I tell random dudes who holla at me on the subway ;)
